COUNTING DOWN TO 'THUNDER AT THE ROCK' BIKE FESTIVAL
Music, Motorcycles, and More in June-18-19 Lifestyle Event at Rockingham Dragway

ROCKINGHAM Can you hear the thunder? It's just a faint rumble now but, come June, it will reverberate throughout the grandstands, the pits, the parking lots and the campgrounds that comprise the Rockingham Dragway complex. It will fill the air, awakening senses and emotions too long muted by events of the past year.

The countdown officially has begun to Thunder at the Rock, a celebration of motorcycles and the men and women who love them. Drag racing, bike show, exhibition runs, games, music, food, and fun. Mark the dates. Friday, June 18. Saturday, June 19.

Camping available starting Thursday, June 17, with admission into the campground only. Advance reservation rates are $65 Thursday, $60 Friday, and $45 Saturday and that price includes admission into all events. General admission tickets only, not including camping, are $25 daily at the gate or $35 for the weekend for those taking advantage of the advance purchase option.

Among the scheduled on-track events are exhibition runs by Bobby Hoover's Pro Fuel Harley, grudge runs run by Lumbee Racing, two daily rounds of Outlaw Arm Drop drag races, sponsored by Burnout Alley, open to all street bikes, two daily rounds of track prep drags, sidecar races and the Big Dog LED Light Show and parade.

Beyond the guard walls, entertainment options will include the Backyard Baggers Sound Off. Backyard Baggers will also be coordinating a Custom Bike Show, which will recognize first, second, and third place winners in classes that include Sportster, Chopper, Custom Modified, Semi-Modified, Stock and Trike.
